Music Appreciation

Ha, you were probably expecting a post about my fandoms, or some such, with all I’ve been prattling on about them. Nope! Today’s post is going to be about music, one of my very favourite things. It seems easier to put this in a Q-and-A format, so that’s what I’ll be doing. Enjoy!

Favourite musician?

Definitely Lindsey Stirling! In fact, I’m listening to her songs as I type this. I was introduced to her by my sister recently, and instantly fell in love with her songs. My mother seems to think summer cleaning is a good idea, but Lindsey’s songs really help. Hence why I’ve been through many batteries on my CD player.

Favourite band?

Probably Skillet, The Classic Crime, or Florence+The Machine. The Civil Wars is good, too.

Favourite song?

And just how am I supposed to pick one? Probably Shatter Me, Moon Trance, or Stars Align by Lindsey Stirling. Swimming by Florence+The Machine is fabulous… Bohemian Rhapsody is always good, etc. etc. I love a lot of songs.

What’s your favourite music genre?

Probably classical or classic rock. I’ll admit it, though: I have a bit of a thing for pop. Probably my absolute favourite, though, are film scores.

What’s your least favourite music genre?

Probably rap or Christian. My parents are always getting after me for not liking Christian music, since I am a Christian, but I just can’t seem to like anything other than one or two songs.

What CD do you want the most?

Probably Lindsey Stirling’s new album, Shatter Me. I seem very obsessed, don’t I. Sorry. Maybe another Florence+The Machine CD? I haven’t listened to very many of her songs, but I like them.

Who introduced you to your favourite music?

My siblings, definitely. My brother used to burn CDs for me, and they gave me my sister’s hand-me-down iPod, complete with about seven hundred songs!

Favourite composer?

Probably Murray Gold, the main Doctor Who composer, or Michael Price, the main Sherlock composer.

Favourite film score song?

Together or Not At All, is, in my opinion, one of the saddest songs out there. I’ve cried many times while listening to it. I blame Nevillegirl over at Musings From Neville’s Navel for introducing me to it. (she has a great blog, by the way, check it out!) The Game Is On is another great song, this time from Sherlock!

Well, that’s all for today. I hope you enjoyed this, and found some great music too. Have a great day!
