Review of the Week

Hello! Today I’m going to do a quick review of what I did this week. (and sorry for the spotty posting, I’ve been busy.)

x I did some planning for my next novel, which I’ll be writing in this year’s NaNoWriMo. I’m so excited!

x I got a lot of books. Grave Mercy, Wonderstruck, a book about Arthurian legends, etc.

x I went swimming and took walks! I actually swam all the way across a lake with my dad. He got to kayak, though.

x I ate lots of sweets, way more than I should have. (Icies, suckers, chocolate, etc.)

x I marathoned 5 episodes of Merlin. Yes, five.

x I started (yesterday) Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. As of ten minutes ago, I have played six hours of it already.

x I got very little sleep, as usual.

x I bemoaned the fact I couldn’t watch Deep Breath.

x Went to a party and got to pet a kitten.

x Didn’t really do all that much, I guess!

Well, that’s all for today! Farewell.

This post contains spoilers for Merlin seasons 1-3!

Hello there! Today I thought I’d do a post on Merlin, a BBC TV show based on Arthurian legend. I’m currently about 3/4 of the way through Season 3.

While Merlin can get a little repetitive, I really enjoy it. It’s one of my favourite shows, and I’m sad that I’m more than halfway through already.

So far my favourite characters are the Lady Morgana, and Morgause, her half-sister. I can’t decide whether I like Morgana as an evil or good character better, though I think she has much more potential as an evil one than a good one. Though she isn’t very good at killing people. She’s almost stabbed Uther twice, almost gotten Arthur to give up his rights to the throne, almost sapped Arthur’s life force, etc. But she hasn’t killed anyone yet!

The Lady Morgana, being awesome.

As for Morgause, just the fact that she’s a lady knight who beat Prince Arthur in a battle endears her to me.

Gaius is pretty great, as well, and Arthur and Merlin’s banter makes me laugh, every time. I’m not such a big fan of Gwen, definitely not Uther, and Nimueh was just okay, in my opinion. I did really like Freya though!

So far, I think Season 3 has been my favourite. My favourite episode is the Season 2 episode where Morgause is first introduced, “The Sins of the Father.” That or the first two Season 3 episodes, “The Tears of Uther Pendragon” parts 1 and 2.

Well, that’s all I have time for today. Goodbye!

Greetings, friends!

Hello, there! My name is Holly, and this is my first blog. It seemed apropriate to make an introductory post, so here you are. On this blog, I plan to blog personal, fandom, and arty posts.

I’m a nerd, and I’ll admit it freely. Expect posts about all my fandoms. They range from Doctor Who (6 days until season 8!), Sherlock (several…years until season 4), Merlin, Psych, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and Avatar: The Last Airbender to The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Lunar Chronicles, Ash and Huntress, How To Train Your Dragon, and many, many more.

I’m a writer, and I’ll admit it even more freely than my being a nerd. I have written many short stories, and currently have finished one novel and am editing it while planning another novel. I participated in YWP NaNoWriMo 2013, and met my wordcount of 30,000 words (though my book expanded, and it ended up being 80,000). Expect posts on writing, fun facts, NaNoWriMo, and more!

I hope that everyone who follows this blog gets exactly what they wanted out of it! Greetings, friends, I look forward to entertaining you.
